银行打响“开门红”信贷战

At the start of each year, Chinese banks launch an intense credit campaign known as “Kaimenhong” (literally “a red start”), aiming to secure a strong beginning for their annual performance. This practice stems from internal performance evaluation systems—banks often tie key metrics like annual loan disbursement and profit growth to quarterly or even monthly targets. A robust start in January not only helps meet yearly goals but also boosts market confidence and staff morale.In 2024, competition during this “Kaimenhong” period has been especially fierce. On one hand, economic recovery remains fragile, prompting banks to expand credit to support the real economy. On the other hand, regulators are encouraging financial institutions to increase lending in priority sectors such as small and micro enterprises, green finance, and technological innovation. In response, many banks have proactively streamlined approval processes, lowered interest rates, and introduced customized loan products to attract high-quality clients.However, the rush for early-year lending volumes also carries risks. Some institutions may loosen risk controls to meet aggressive targets, potentially undermining asset quality. Regulators have repeatedly cautioned banks to balance scale with soundness and avoid prioritizing quantity over risk management. In the long run, banks must shift from extensive, volume-driven growth to high-quality development, achieving a win-win between serving the real economy and ensuring their own sustainable operations.

每年年初,中国银行业都会掀起一场被称为“开门红”的信贷冲刺战。所谓“开门红”,是指银行在一季度尤其是1月份集中发力,力争实现全年业务的“良好开局”。这一传统源于绩效考核机制——银行通常将全年信贷投放、利润增长等关键指标与季度甚至月度挂钩,因此年初放贷不仅有助于完成全年任务,还能提升市场信心和内部士气。2024年,“开门红”竞争尤为激烈。一方面,经济复苏仍面临压力,银行需通过扩大信贷支持实体经济;另一方面,监管层鼓励金融机构加大重点领域(如小微企业、绿色金融、科技创新)的信贷投放。在此背景下,多家银行提前布局,优化审批流程、下调贷款利率、推出定制化产品,以抢占优质客户资源。然而,“开门红”也带来一定风险。部分机构为冲量可能放松风控标准,导致资产质量承压。监管部门已多次提醒银行平衡规模与质量,避免“重数量、轻风险”的倾向。长远来看,银行需从粗放式增长转向高质量发展,真正实现服务实体经济与自身稳健经营的双赢。
