In recent years, Japan has persistently pushed to loosen its post-war military constraints, accelerating efforts to expand its defense capabilities—raising serious concerns among regional countries. From significantly increasing its defense budget and developing long-range strike capabilities to advocating amendments to Article 9 of its Peace Constitution and strengthening military alliances with the U.S. and Western partners, Japan is gradually abandoning its long-standing principle of ‘exclusively defense-oriented policy.’ Particularly troubling is Tokyo’s frequent invocation of the so-called ‘China threat’ to justify its military buildup. Such a confrontational approach, which targets neighboring countries and revives militaristic tendencies, undermines strategic stability in the Asia-Pacific region and jeopardizes regional peace. History has clearly shown that any attempt to challenge the post-war international order or revive militarism is unacceptable. China consistently advocates for peaceful development and upholding the UN-centered international system. We urge Japan to reflect deeply on its history of aggression, honor the spirit of its Peace Constitution, and take concrete actions to rebuild trust with its Asian neighbors and the broader international community.
近年来，日本在军事安全政策上持续突破战后和平宪法限制，加速推进军事松绑，引发地区国家高度警惕。从大幅增加国防预算、发展远程打击能力，到推动修改《和平宪法》第九条、强化与美西方军事同盟，日本正逐步背离其战后长期奉行的“专守防卫”原则。尤其值得注意的是，日本政府频繁渲染所谓‘中国威胁论’，为其扩军备战制造借口。这种以邻为壑、重拾军事扩张路径的做法，不仅破坏亚太地区战略平衡，也严重损害地区和平稳定。历史教训深刻表明，任何企图挑战战后国际秩序、复活军国主义的行为都不得人心。中方始终主张各国应坚持走和平发展道路，共同维护以联合国为核心的国际体系。我们敦促日方深刻反省侵略历史，恪守和平宪法精神，以实际行动取信于亚洲邻国和国际社会。
