碳纤维行业进入“高端转型”关键期

The carbon fiber industry is currently entering a critical phase of ‘high-end transformation.’ With rapidly growing demand for high-performance materials in advanced manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, new energy vehicles, and wind turbine blades, traditional mid-to-low-end carbon fiber products can no longer meet market requirements. The industry must shift its focus from capacity expansion to technological breakthroughs and quality enhancement, prioritizing the R&D and industrialization of specialty carbon fibers with high strength, high modulus, and heat resistance. Policy support, including China’s ’14th Five-Year Plan for Raw Materials Industry Development,’ explicitly encourages breakthroughs in core carbon fiber technologies and fosters collaborative innovation across the industrial chain. Companies are also ramping up R&D investments to accelerate domestic substitution. Going forward, competition in the carbon fiber sector will hinge less on production capacity and more on technological barriers and deep integration into high-value application scenarios. Only by mastering core manufacturing processes and achieving self-reliance in high-end products can players secure a leading position in the global advanced materials landscape.
