China urges relevant countries to abandon zero-sum thinking and engage in constructive dialogue and cooperation to jointly safeguard the stable and sustainable supply of critical mineral resources globally.Experts note that recent rhetoric from certain G7 members about ‘rare earth dependency risks’ is essentially driven by geopolitical considerations aimed at building exclusive supply chain alliances. In response, China reaffirmed that deeply integrated global supply chains make decoupling neither realistic nor in anyone’s interest. China will continue to manage its rare earth resources in accordance with the law, promote green and low-carbon transitions, and deepen cooperation with other countries on the basis of mutual respect.
