The electronic certificate holds the same legal validity as its paper counterpart and can be used for eligibility verification, benefit audits, cross-regional authentication, and more, greatly enhancing convenience and efficiency. Additionally, the system supports biometric authentication methods like facial recognition to ensure identity authenticity and prevent fraudulent claims. This initiative not only spares seniors the hassle of travel but also accelerates the transformation of social security services toward a paperless, intelligent, and user-friendly model. The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security stated that it will continue optimizing its digital social security infrastructure and expanding the application scenarios of electronic certificates to deliver more thoughtful and efficient services for the elderly.
