Recently, construction has officially commenced on the Tongzhou Branch of the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution, marking a significant step in optimizing Beijing’s public cultural infrastructure. As an integral part of this national first-class museum, the Tongzhou branch will leverage the development strategy of Beijing’s sub-center to become a modern, comprehensive military cultural facility integrating artifact preservation, exhibitions, national defense education, academic research, and public services. Located in Tongzhou’s Cultural Tourism Zone, the new venue is planned to cover approximately 100,000 square meters. Upon completion, it is expected to serve as a key patriotic education base and a landmark for military culture in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The project will not only alleviate visitor pressure on the main museum but also enhance public—especially youth—engagement with national defense history and military technology through digital exhibitions and immersive experiences.
