Recently, the Jiangxi Provincial Medical Security Administration issued a notice titled ‘Announcement on System Downtime for Upgrade of Jiangxi Medical Insurance Information Platform,’ stating that the province-wide medical insurance information system will undergo maintenance and upgrades from 00:00 on June 15, 2024, to 24:00 on June 17, 2024. During this period, all medical insurance-related services—including enrollment registration, expense settlement, inter-provincial medical care filing, and insurance transfer—will be temporarily suspended at all levels of medical insurance agencies, designated hospitals, and pharmacies, both online and offline.This upgrade aims to enhance the stability, security, and service capacity of the medical insurance information system, improve patients’ experience in accessing healthcare and purchasing medicine, and lay the technical groundwork for integration with the national unified medical insurance platform. After the upgrade, the system will support more efficient reimbursement processes, more accurate fund supervision, and smoother direct settlement for inter-provincial medical visits.The Jiangxi Medical Security Administration advises insured residents: if medical treatment is needed during the downtime, please pay medical expenses upfront and submit valid receipts to the local medical insurance office for reimbursement after the system resumes operation. Patients with chronic conditions are encouraged to stock up on necessary medications in advance. The public is also urged to stay updated with official announcements and plan their medical insurance-related affairs accordingly to minimize inconvenience.
