Recently, Wanhua Chemical announced the successful resumption of production at its MDI (Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate) Phase II plant in the Ningbo Industrial Park following its annual maintenance shutdown. MDI is a core raw material in the polyurethane industry chain and is widely used in building insulation, home appliances, automotive manufacturing, footwear, and furniture sectors. As a global leader in MDI production, Wanhua’s timely restart ensures stable supply for domestic downstream customers and reinforces its dominant position in the global polyurethane market.The maintenance period lasted approximately two weeks, during which critical equipment, safety systems, and environmental protection facilities underwent comprehensive inspections and optimizations, significantly enhancing operational efficiency and intrinsic safety. The plant is now operating at full capacity, maintaining an annual output of around 400,000 metric tons. Wanhua Chemical stated it will continue advancing green and intelligent manufacturing, strengthening supply chain resilience, and actively supporting China’s ‘dual carbon’ (carbon peak and carbon neutrality) strategic goals.The smooth resumption also highlights the company’s mature capabilities in precision management and emergency response, laying a solid foundation for future project launches and capacity expansions.
