The spokesperson also stressed China’s firm opposition to any attempts to distort facts or deliberately tarnish China’s image. Reaffirming China’s sovereignty and maritime rights over the South China Sea islands and their adjacent waters—rights grounded in long-standing historical facts and international law—the spokesperson underscored China’s consistent stance of resolving disputes through peaceful dialogue and consultation, while opposing interference by external forces in South China Sea affairs. The Ministry called on relevant parties to adopt an objective and impartial perspective on the issue and jointly safeguard regional peace and cooperation.
