歼10CE为何卖不过枭龙

Although the J-10CE is an advanced multirole fighter developed by China’s Aviation Industry Corporation, featuring sophisticated avionics, beyond-visual-range combat capabilities, and high maneuverability, it has not matched the export success of the jointly Sino-Pakistani developed JF-17 Thunder (also known as FC-1 Xiaolong). There are three main reasons for this: First, the JF-17 is positioned as a lightweight, low-cost, and cost-effective third-generation fighter, making it more suitable for budget-constrained developing nations. Second, Pakistan—co-developer and co-producer of the JF-17—actively markets the aircraft globally and offers flexible financing and local partnership options. Third, while the J-10CE delivers superior performance, it comes at a higher price and requires more complex maintenance, posing greater operational costs for smaller air forces. Additionally, the JF-17 already boasts a mature export ecosystem and real-world combat experience (e.g., in service with Myanmar and Nigeria), whereas the J-10CE only secured its first export deal (to Pakistan in 2021) recently, and is still building international recognition and trust. In today’s defense market, affordability and value often outweigh raw performance—key factors behind the JF-17’s stronger sales record.
