In June 2024, Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, met in Xi’an with a delegation led by Ms. Pansy Ho, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairperson of Sino Land Group. The two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening cooperation between Shaanxi and Macao, promoting cultural-tourism integration, and enhancing economic and trade exchanges. Zhao emphasized that Shaanxi, as a cradle of Chinese civilization, boasts abundant historical and cultural resources and is actively building a high-level opening-up framework while integrating into the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed hope that this meeting would serve as a catalyst for stronger collaboration in areas such as cultural tourism, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) economy, and youth exchanges, jointly advancing Shaanxi as a new hub for inland openness. Ms. Ho praised Shaanxi’s development achievements and business environment, stating that her group is ready to leverage its strengths to participate in Shaanxi’s cultural tourism projects and international outreach, fostering mutual benefit. The dialogue not only enhanced mutual understanding but also laid a solid foundation for future cooperation, marking a new chapter in Shaanxi-Macao relations.
