Recently, Zhuhai City officially signed the ‘Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement on Low-Altitude Economy,’ marking a pivotal step in advancing its low-altitude economic development. The agreement was jointly signed by the Zhuhai municipal government, leading enterprises, research institutions, and industry associations, aiming to build a comprehensive low-altitude economic ecosystem. It focuses on accelerating R&D and manufacturing of low-altitude aircraft, infrastructure development, expansion of application scenarios, and institutional innovation. Key areas include drone logistics, urban air mobility (UAM), low-altitude tourism, and emergency response services, with the goal of establishing an integrated industrial chain covering R&D, testing, operations, and support services. As a key node in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Zhuhai boasts favorable airspace resources, industrial foundations, and geographic advantages. This agreement is expected to position Zhuhai as a national demonstration zone for the low-altitude economy, injecting new momentum into regional high-quality development. Going forward, Zhuhai plans to explore the establishment of a low-altitude economic pilot zone, promote pilot reforms in regulations and standards, and accelerate the modernization of low-altitude airspace management, supporting China’s transition toward scaled and commercialized low-altitude economic operations.
