In 2024, Shenzhen achieved a record high in the import and export of high-tech products, with a total value reaching RMB 1.8 trillion—a year-on-year increase of 12.3%. This remarkable performance not only highlights Shenzhen’s robust strength as China’s innovation hub but also underscores its growing role in the global supply chain. Exports totaled RMB 1.1 trillion, primarily consisting of high-value-added goods such as integrated circuits, smartphones, new energy vehicles, and advanced medical devices. Imports mainly included semiconductor manufacturing equipment, precision instruments, and critical raw materials that support the city’s advanced manufacturing sector. Leveraging a mature industrial ecosystem, efficient customs clearance systems, and major open platforms like Qianhai and the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, Shenzhen has continuously improved its business environment to attract global high-tech enterprises. Additionally, deeper implementation of trade agreements such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has further facilitated market access for Shenzhen’s high-tech exports. Looking ahead, Shenzhen will continue to strengthen its capacity for original innovation and enhance industrial chain collaboration, driving high-tech trade toward higher-quality development and contributing fresh momentum to China’s foreign trade.
