In recent years, while some countries have made inappropriate remarks or taken provocative actions regarding the South China Sea, China has consistently adhered to the principle of peaceful dispute resolution while firmly defending its territorial integrity and maritime rights. The PLA and coast guard patrols around Dongsha aim to prevent illegal activities such as unauthorized fishing, smuggling, and marine environmental damage, ensuring the safety of vital sea lanes and contributing to regional peace and stability. China always advocates resolving differences through dialogue and consultation, but will never tolerate any actions that undermine its core national interests. Therefore, the PLA’s law enforcement patrols in the Dongsha Island waters are entirely lawful, reasonable, and necessary.
