In 2024, Beijing will complete and officially open the China Great Wall Museum to the public. Located at the foot of the Badaling Great Wall in Yanqing District, the museum is a key project under China’s 14th Five-Year Plan for cultural heritage protection and utilization. As a national-level thematic museum, it comprehensively showcases the Great Wall’s historical and cultural significance, architectural techniques, military defense systems, and conservation achievements. The new facility covers a total construction area of approximately 16,000 square meters, with over 8,000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions. It employs a combination of authentic artifacts, digital technologies, and immersive experiences to narrate the Great Wall’s more than 2,000-year history and its vital role in Chinese civilization.The establishment of the China Great Wall Museum not only enhances public awareness and appreciation of the Great Wall’s cultural heritage but also supports the broader development of the Great Wall National Cultural Park and promotes the integration of culture and tourism. In the future, the museum will serve as a hub for collection, research, exhibition, education, and international exchange—effectively telling China’s story to the world and promoting the nation’s rich traditional culture.
2024年，北京将建成并正式对外开放中国长城博物馆。该博物馆位于北京市延庆区八达岭长城脚下，是国家‘十四五’文化保护传承利用工程的重点项目之一。作为全面展示长城历史文化、建筑技艺、军事防御体系及保护成果的国家级专题博物馆，新馆总建筑面积约1.6万平方米，展陈面积超过8000平方米，通过文物实物、数字技术、沉浸式体验等多种手段，系统讲述长城两千多年的发展历程及其在中华文明中的重要地位。中国长城博物馆的建设不仅有助于提升公众对长城文化的认知与保护意识，还将推动长城国家文化公园的整体建设，促进文旅融合发展。未来，该馆将成为集收藏、研究、展示、教育和国际交流于一体的长城文化高地，向世界讲好中国故事，传播中华优秀传统文化。
