广州站再也没有始发“绿皮火车”了

In June 2024, with the final departure of K100 (Guangzhou–Shanghai), the last traditional non-air-conditioned ‘green-skinned train’ originating from Guangzhou Railway Station, this historic hub officially bid farewell to an era. ‘Green-skinned trains’ refer to the classic, unairconditioned passenger trains painted in dark green that were widely used in China from the 1950s to the 1990s. Known for their low fares, frequent stops, and slow speeds, they were once the backbone of China’s rail transport and a common choice for budget-conscious travelers.Since its opening in 1974, Guangzhou Railway Station has served as one of southern China’s most vital rail terminals, at its peak handling over 100,000 passengers daily. With the rapid expansion of China’s high-speed rail network and nationwide railway upgrades, these older trains have been steadily replaced by more comfortable and faster air-conditioned trains and EMUs (electric multiple units). In recent years, conventional services have been relocated to Guangzhou East or the newly built Guangzhou Baiyun Railway Station, allowing Guangzhou Station to focus on intercity EMUs and select cross-line high-speed services.The retirement of the green-skinned train symbolizes not only technological progress but also reflects China’s profound urbanization and transportation modernization. While it no longer meets contemporary standards for efficiency and comfort, its nostalgic value and emotional resonance continue to evoke deep sentiment among generations. Moving forward, Guangzhou Station will remain a key transportation hub in the Greater Bay Area, embracing a smarter and more efficient rail future.

2024年6月,随着最后一班由广州站始发的“绿皮火车”K100次(广州—上海)正式停运,这座承载了几代人记忆的铁路枢纽彻底告别了传统非空调普速列车的时代。所谓“绿皮火车”,是指上世纪50年代至90年代广泛使用的无空调、车身为墨绿色的普通旅客列车。它们曾是中国铁路运输的主力,以票价低廉、停站多、速度慢为特点,是许多普通人长途出行的首选。广州站自1974年启用以来,一直是华南地区最重要的铁路客运站之一,高峰期日均发送旅客超10万人次。随着中国高铁网络的迅猛发展和铁路系统全面升级,绿皮车逐渐被更舒适、更快捷的空调列车和动车组取代。近年来,广州站已逐步将普速列车转移至广州东站或广州白云站,自身则聚焦于城际动车和部分跨线高铁服务。绿皮火车的退出,不仅标志着铁路技术的进步,也折射出中国城市化与交通现代化的深刻变迁。尽管它在效率和舒适度上已难以满足当代需求,但其承载的集体记忆与时代情感,仍让许多人感慨万千。未来,广州站将继续作为粤港澳大湾区重要交通枢纽,迈向更高效、智能的铁路新时代。
