On June 15, 2024, the inaugural loop high-speed train around the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region officially launched, marking a new phase in regional transportation integration. The route connects major cities across Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province, forming an efficient ‘one-hour commuting circle.’ Departing from Beijing South Railway Station, the first train travels through key locations including Xiong’an New Area, Langfang, Tianjin West Station, and Tangshan before returning to Beijing—a full loop taking approximately four hours. This significantly enhances regional connectivity and commuting efficiency. Beyond alleviating congestion on existing rail lines, the loop service creates new development opportunities for cities along the route, facilitating optimized flows of talent, industries, and resources. As a key infrastructure project under China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, the line features intelligent EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) trains equipped with advanced technologies such as autonomous operation, smart scheduling, and energy-efficient systems—showcasing the latest achievements in China’s high-quality high-speed rail development. In the future, with additional branch lines and stations integrated into the network, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei high-speed rail loop will further strengthen regional synergy and coordinated growth.
