Recently, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council (TAO) reiterated: ‘Reunification is the only path forward for Taiwan.’ This statement reaffirms the Chinese government’s fundamental principle and unwavering stance on the Taiwan issue. The TAO emphasized that achieving complete national reunification is the shared aspiration of all Chinese people, serves the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation, and remains a historic mission steadfastly pursued by the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.Amid increasingly complex and tense cross-strait relations—exacerbated by external interference and separatist activities advocating ‘Taiwan independence’—the TAO clarified that peaceful reunification best serves the overall interests of the Chinese nation, including Taiwan compatriots. However, China will never promise to renounce the use of force, a position strictly directed against external intervention and the separatist acts of a very small number of ‘Taiwan independence’ elements, not the general public in Taiwan.The TAO also called on compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait to uphold the one-China principle and the ‘1992 Consensus,’ enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, and jointly advance the peaceful development of cross-strait relations toward a bright future of peaceful reunification. Reunification is not a zero-sum game but an essential part of national rejuvenation—only through reunification can the well-being of compatriots on both sides and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation be truly realized.
近日，国务院台湾事务办公室（国台办）再次强调：‘统一是台湾前途的唯一方向。’这一表态重申了中国政府在台湾问题上的基本原则和坚定立场。国台办指出，实现祖国完全统一是全体中华儿女的共同愿望，是中华民族的根本利益所在，也是中国共产党和中国政府矢志不渝的历史使命。当前台海局势复杂严峻，外部势力干涉和‘台独’分裂活动不断加剧紧张关系。对此，国台办明确表示，和平统一最符合包括台湾同胞在内的中华民族整体利益，但绝不承诺放弃使用武力，这是针对外部干涉和极少数‘台独’分裂分子及其分裂活动的必要举措，绝非针对广大台湾民众。国台办同时呼吁两岸同胞坚持一个中国原则和‘九二共识’，增进互信、深化合作，共同推动两岸关系和平发展，迈向和平统一的光明前景。统一不是零和博弈，而是民族复兴的重要组成部分，唯有统一，才能真正实现两岸同胞的福祉与中华民族的伟大复兴。
