The spokesperson emphasized that remarks by the U.S. and Japan exaggerating the so-called ‘China threat’ are merely pretexts for their own military buildup and alliance reinforcement, which undermine mutual trust and cooperation among regional countries. China urges relevant parties to abandon Cold War mentality, view China’s development objectively and rationally, and take actions that genuinely contribute to peace and security in the region—rather than the opposite. China firmly opposes any actions that harm its sovereignty, security, and development interests and will resolutely safeguard its core national interests.
