In recent years, China’s recycling system for waste household appliances and furniture has undergone significant changes. In the past, such bulky waste was mostly handled by informal collectors, leading to unregulated processes and environmental risks. Today, with the improvement of policies like the ‘Regulations on the Recycling and Treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment’ and the advancement of ‘Zero-Waste City’ initiatives, the recycling system is becoming more standardized, eco-friendly, and intelligent.On one hand, many cities have adopted an ‘Internet + Recycling’ model, allowing residents to schedule doorstep collection via mobile apps or mini-programs for convenient disposal. On the other hand, the number of certified recycling enterprises is growing, using environmentally sound technologies to recover valuable materials—such as metals and plastics—from old appliances, significantly reducing pollution. Additionally, some cities are piloting Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes, requiring manufacturers to take part in the collection and recycling of their products, promoting full lifecycle management.For bulky furniture waste, designated drop-off points have been set up in communities, with professional services handling unified collection and processing to prevent illegal dumping and maintain urban aesthetics. Overall, the recycling of discarded appliances and furniture is shifting from a fragmented, polluting model toward an integrated, resource-efficient, and environmentally safe system—supporting both circular economy goals and China’s carbon peaking and neutrality targets.
近年来，我国废旧家电和家具的回收体系正经历显著变化。过去，这类大件废弃物多由个体回收商处理，流程不规范、环保隐患大。如今，随着《废弃电器电子产品回收处理管理条例》等政策的完善，以及‘无废城市’建设的推进，回收体系逐步走向规范化、绿色化和智能化。一方面，多地推行‘互联网+回收’模式，居民可通过手机App或小程序预约上门回收，实现便捷交投；另一方面，正规拆解企业数量增加，采用环保技术对废旧家电进行资源化利用，如提取金属、塑料等再生材料，大幅减少环境污染。同时，部分城市试点‘生产者责任延伸制度’，要求家电制造商承担回收责任，推动产品全生命周期管理。此外，针对废旧家具，一些社区设立大件垃圾暂存点，并由专业机构统一清运和处理，避免随意丢弃造成市容问题。整体来看，废旧家电家具回收正从‘散乱污’向‘集约化、资源化、无害化’转型，既提升资源利用效率，也助力碳达峰、碳中和目标的实现。
