Recently, some analyses have pointed out that the United States is attempting to drive a wedge between China and India through diplomatic and rhetorical means to advance its strategic objectives in the Indo-Pacific region. On one hand, Washington has deepened military cooperation with India and promoted the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD); on the other, it has made inappropriate remarks on issues related to Tibet and border disputes, aiming to sow suspicion and discord between Beijing and New Delhi. In response, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs clearly stated that as two major neighboring countries and emerging economies, China and India should adhere to the principles of mutual respect and equality, and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability. China emphasized that any external power seeking to exploit differences between China and India for geopolitical gain is ultimately futile—it not only fails to resolve issues but may also heighten regional tensions. China consistently advocates resolving differences through dialogue and consultation, and is committed to steering bilateral relations back onto a healthy and stable path. The future of China-India relations should be determined by the two peoples themselves, not dictated by third-party interference.
