This discovery significantly enriches historical and cultural records of Heilongjiang from that era and offers valuable physical evidence for studying ancient urban planning, defense systems, and ethnic integration in northeastern China. Archaeologists are now conducting systematic excavations and mapping, aiming to identify the city’s exact name and historical role by cross-referencing historical texts. The find further underscores the importance of the Heilongjiang River basin within the diverse yet unified framework of Chinese civilization.
