In 2024, the world’s longest highway tunnel—the Tianshan Victory Tunnel—officially opened to traffic. Located in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the tunnel stretches 22.1 kilometers through the Tianshan Mountains and serves as a critical control project on the G0711 expressway linking Urumqi and Yuli.
