两部门下达44.4亿元救助资金

Recently, China’s Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergency Management jointly allocated RMB 4.44 billion in central government disaster relief funds for 2024 to support local governments in ensuring basic living needs for affected populations and facilitating post-disaster recovery and reconstruction. The funding prioritizes regions recently hit by severe natural disasters such as floods, typhoons, and earthquakes, including Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan provinces. The funds will primarily be used for emergency evacuation and temporary resettlement of affected residents, transitional living assistance, reconstruction of collapsed or damaged homes, and addressing essential needs—including food, clothing, and heating—during the winter and spring seasons. The two ministries have instructed local authorities to strengthen fund oversight, ensure dedicated use of the allocation, and maximize its effectiveness in meeting the basic needs of disaster-affected communities and maintaining social stability in impacted areas. This move underscores the Chinese government’s strong commitment to disaster prevention, mitigation, and relief efforts, reflecting its people-centered development philosophy.
