台积电:2纳米技术已量产

TSMC recently announced that its 2-nanometer (N2) process technology has officially entered mass production, marking a new era in global semiconductor manufacturing. As the world’s leading wafer foundry, TSMC’s N2 node adopts a new gate-all-around (GAA) transistor architecture. Compared to its predecessor, the 3nm process, it delivers a 10–15% performance boost at the same power level or reduces power consumption by 25–30% at equivalent performance. This breakthrough not only enhances chip energy efficiency but also provides a stronger hardware foundation for critical applications such as artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, and mobile devices.The N2 production lines are primarily located in TSMC’s advanced fabs in Hsinchu and Tainan, Taiwan, and have already secured orders from major international clients including Apple, NVIDIA, and AMD. Devices featuring 2nm chips are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2025. Moreover, TSMC plans to roll out enhanced variants of the N2 platform—such as N2P and N2X—in the coming years to address diverse application requirements.The mass production of 2nm technology not only reinforces TSMC’s leadership in global semiconductor manufacturing but also accelerates innovation and upgrades across the worldwide tech supply chain.
