Starting January 1, 2024, China Eastern Airlines has announced that free Wi-Fi service will be available on all domestic flights operated by its wide-body aircraft. Passengers flying on domestic routes using Boeing 777, 787, Airbus A330, or A350 aircraft can now enjoy high-speed internet connectivity at cruising altitude without any additional charge. This initiative aims to enhance the in-flight experience and meet the growing demand for airborne productivity and entertainment.The complimentary Wi-Fi service is powered by advanced satellite communication technology and supports basic online functions such as web browsing, instant messaging, and email access. Passengers simply need to enable Wi-Fi on their devices during the flight, connect to the designated network, and complete a quick registration to get started. It should be noted that this service currently applies only to domestic flights operated by wide-body aircraft and does not extend to narrow-body planes or international routes.As the first major Chinese carrier to roll out free Wi-Fi on a large scale across its wide-body domestic fleet, China Eastern seeks to strengthen its brand competitiveness through digital innovation and promote smarter air travel.
