Subsidy amounts will be determined based on vehicle type, scrappage timing, and the specifications of the replacement vehicle, incentivizing early upgrades. Additionally, both ministries require local authorities to strengthen fund oversight to ensure accurate subsidy distribution and streamline application procedures for efficient implementation.This initiative is a key step in implementing China’s national ‘dual carbon’ (carbon peak and carbon neutrality) strategy and advancing energy conservation and emission reduction in the transportation sector.
