Recently, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, officially announced that the first coupe from the ‘Shangjie’ brand—a joint venture between Huawei and SAIC Motor—will launch in 2025. This announcement underscores Huawei’s deepening commitment to the smart electric vehicle (EV) sector and positions Shangjie as another premium automotive brand following the successful Aito (Wenjie) series.The debut Shangjie coupe will be built on Huawei’s full-stack intelligent automotive solutions, integrating key technologies such as the HarmonyOS Smart Cockpit, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), and Huawei’s electric drive platform. Designed with a futuristic and sporty aesthetic, the vehicle will feature Huawei’s latest ADS 3.0 system, enabling advanced capabilities like urban Navigation on Autopilot (NOA). It is also expected to support an 800V high-voltage fast-charging architecture for ultra-rapid recharging.According to Yu Chengdong, Shangjie targets young, affluent consumers who value the fusion of cutting-edge technology, performance, and design. Through deep collaboration with SAIC Motor, Shangjie aims to leverage both companies’ strengths in intelligence, electrification, and manufacturing to create a globally competitive Chinese premium EV brand.With the upcoming launch of its first model, Shangjie further expands Huawei’s growing ecosystem in the smart car industry, accelerating its strategy of ‘not making cars, but empowering automakers to build better smart vehicles.’
