Recently, a spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated clearly that cooperation between China and Venezuela is fully protected under international law and adheres to the principles of the UN Charter. The spokesperson emphasized that Sino-Venezuelan cooperation is based on mutual respect and equality, spanning sectors such as energy, infrastructure, finance, and technology. This partnership not only promotes socio-economic development in both countries but also serves as a model for South-South cooperation.In response to unwarranted criticisms and external pressure from certain countries regarding China-Venezuela collaboration, the Ministry stressed that legitimate cooperation between sovereign states should not be subject to interference by third parties. China firmly opposes attempts to suppress lawful international partnerships under pretexts such as ‘national security’ or ‘values.’ The cooperation between China and Venezuela is transparent, lawful, non-targeted at any third party, and does not undermine the interests of other nations.Furthermore, China reaffirmed that international law is a cornerstone for global peace and order, and all countries must uphold fundamental principles such as sovereign equality and non-interference in internal affairs. China will continue deepening practical cooperation with Venezuela within the framework of international law to jointly address global challenges and advance the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity.
