Recently, China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations delivered a strong statement at a UN Security Council meeting, condemning the United States’ unilateral sanctions and interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs. China emphasized that the U.S. has long imposed economic blockades, financial sanctions, and political pressure on Venezuela, which seriously violates the purposes of the UN Charter and fundamental principles of international law. These actions undermine Venezuela’s sovereignty, security, and development interests, and exacerbate the country’s humanitarian crisis. China stressed that all nations should adhere to the principles of mutual respect, fairness, justice, and win-win cooperation in international relations, and oppose any external interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states under any pretext. China called on the U.S. to immediately cease its unlawful sanctions against Venezuela and resolve differences through dialogue and cooperation, thereby making constructive contributions to regional peace and stability. China also reaffirmed its firm support for the Venezuelan government and people in safeguarding their legitimate rights to national sovereignty and self-determined development.
