Recently, CCCC Shanghai Waterway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ‘CCCC-SWEB’) and Shanghai YX SatCom Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as ‘YX SatCom’) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will deepen collaboration in areas such as smart ocean solutions, digital waterways, remote sensing monitoring, and satellite communications. As a core subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), CCCC-SWEB has long specialized in port and waterway dredging, coastal ecological restoration, and maritime infrastructure development. YX SatCom, a leader in China’s commercial aerospace sector, focuses on the development and operation of low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite communication systems. This partnership leverages CCCC-SWEB’s expertise in marine engineering and infrastructure with YX SatCom’s capabilities in remote sensing data acquisition, satellite communications, and space-based information processing to advance integrated ‘space-ocean’ applications. Examples include using high-resolution satellite imagery for real-time monitoring of sedimentation in navigation channels or enabling reliable data transmission for offshore vessels via LEO satellites. The collaboration not only enhances the intelligence level of China’s marine engineering sector but also marks a significant step in the digital and intelligent transformation of traditional infrastructure enterprises.
