The office also called on compatriots across the strait to enhance mutual trust, deepen understanding, and jointly promote peaceful development of cross-strait relations toward the complete reunification of the motherland.This incident once again highlights the complexity and sensitivity of the current Taiwan Strait situation. While the mainland consistently adheres to the basic policy of ‘peaceful reunification and one country, two systems,’ it remains highly vigilant against any form of ‘Taiwan independence’ separatist activities and reserves the right to take all necessary measures.
