This position underscores the Chinese government’s unwavering resolve to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity.The TAO emphasized that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China—a fact widely recognized by the international community and a matter of common sense. ‘Taiwan independence’ forces and their separatist activities not only severely damage the peaceful development of cross-strait relations but also threaten regional security and stability. Regardless of external interference, China remains firmly opposed to any form of ‘Taiwan independence’ schemes.At the same time, the TAO noted that the people of Taiwan are our fellow compatriots, and reunification across the Taiwan Strait aligns with historical trends and popular will. While a small number of die-hard separatists who persist in ‘Taiwan independence’ will face strict legal consequences, the mainland consistently upholds the principle of ‘one family on both sides of the strait’ toward those Taiwanese compatriots who recognize the one-China principle and support national rejuvenation, continuously promoting integrated cross-strait development.In short, pursuing ‘Taiwan independence’ goes against the tide of history and is destined to fail. Adhering to the one-China principle and advancing the peaceful process of national reunification remains the only correct path forward.
