As of now, Shandong Province has established seven aerospace industrial clusters, marking a solid step forward in its strategic layout for high-end equipment manufacturing and emerging industries. These clusters are primarily located in cities such as Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Weifang, and Weihai, leveraging local universities, research institutes, and leading enterprises to build a comprehensive industrial chain covering aviation materials, general aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), satellite applications, aerospace telemetry, and more. For instance, Laoshan District in Qingdao focuses on UAVs and general aviation aircraft manufacturing, Yantai specializes in aerospace structural components and composite materials, while Jinan High-Tech Zone excels in satellite navigation and remote sensing applications. Through policy support, financial incentives, and industry-academia-research collaboration, Shandong is accelerating the aerospace sector’s development toward scale, intelligence, and internationalization. These seven clusters not only enhance regional innovation capacity and industrial competitiveness but also provide strong support for China’s national aerospace endeavors, positioning Shandong as a key aerospace industrial base in the country.
