Recently, the Henan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology announced a new batch of ‘Zero-Carbon Factories’ and ‘Super Energy-Efficient Factories,’ marking a significant step in the province’s efforts to drive green and low-carbon transformation in manufacturing. The newly designated factories span key sectors including equipment manufacturing, new materials, and food processing. They have achieved substantial reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions per unit of output by adopting advanced energy-saving technologies, renewable energy systems, and intelligent energy management platforms.A ‘Zero-Carbon Factory’ refers to a manufacturing facility that achieves net-zero carbon emissions during production, typically through energy efficiency improvements, procurement of green electricity, and carbon offsetting. In contrast, a ‘Super Energy-Efficient Factory’ focuses on maximizing energy efficiency and demonstrates industry-leading performance in this regard. As a major traditional industrial hub, Henan is actively building a modern industrial system centered on green manufacturing to support China’s national ‘dual carbon’ goals (carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060).It is reported that Henan plans to establish more than 100 zero- or near-zero-carbon demonstration factories by 2025, supported by policy incentives, technical guidance, and financial subsidies to accelerate corporate green upgrades. This initiative not only enhances regional industrial competitiveness but also offers a replicable ‘Henan model’ for nationwide green transformation in manufacturing.
近日，河南省工业和信息化厅公布新一批‘零碳工厂’和‘超级能效工厂’名单，标志着该省在推动制造业绿色低碳转型方面迈出坚实步伐。此次入选的工厂涵盖装备制造、新材料、食品加工等多个重点产业领域，通过采用先进节能技术、可再生能源系统以及智能化能源管理平台，显著降低单位产品能耗与碳排放。‘零碳工厂’是指在生产过程中实现净零碳排放的制造单元，通常通过能效提升、绿电采购、碳抵消等方式达成目标；而‘超级能效工厂’则聚焦于极致能效优化，在行业内能效水平处于领先地位。河南作为传统工业大省，正积极构建以绿色制造为核心的现代产业体系，助力国家‘双碳’战略落地。据悉，河南省计划到2025年建成100家以上零碳或近零碳示范工厂，并配套政策支持、技术指导和资金激励，引导企业加快绿色升级。此举不仅有助于提升区域产业竞争力，也为全国制造业绿色转型提供了‘河南样板’。
