To promote high-quality economic development and structural transformation, the People’s Bank of China (PBOC) has recently introduced eight key policy measures aimed at strengthening financial support for the real economy and advancing green, low-carbon transition, technological innovation, and balanced regional development. These measures include: (1) expanding the use of targeted monetary policy tools to precisely support small and micro enterprises, technological innovation, and green development; (2) optimizing credit allocation to channel more funds into advanced manufacturing and modern services; (3) improving interest rate formation mechanisms to reduce corporate financing costs; (4) enhancing macro-prudential management to guard against systemic financial risks; (5) advancing digital RMB pilots to improve payment system efficiency; (6) deepening financial opening-up to facilitate cross-border investment and financing; (7) strengthening financial infrastructure to enhance inclusiveness and accessibility; and (8) establishing a robust green finance framework to support China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals. Collectively, these initiatives reflect the PBOC’s balanced approach to stabilizing growth, adjusting structure, and managing risks, laying a solid foundation for a more resilient, efficient, and sustainable modern financial system that supports China’s economic transformation.
