General Kui Fulín, former Commander of the Chengdu Military Area Command, passed away in Beijing on June 15, 2024, at the age of 87, after failing to recover from illness. From 1996 to 1999, he served as Commander of the Chengdu Military Area Command, making significant contributions to national defense and military modernization in China’s southwest region. He was awarded the rank of Lieutenant General in 1994 and promoted to full General in 1998. Known for his unwavering loyalty to the Party and the people, strict discipline, and effective leadership, General Kui earned high respect both within and beyond the military. His passing is a great loss to the PLA, and his legacy of dedication and integrity will continue to inspire future generations.
原成都军区司令员隗福临上将因病医治无效，于2024年6月15日在北京逝世，享年87岁。隗福临同志1937年出生于黑龙江肇州，1955年参军入伍，长期在解放军陆军部队服役，历任战士、排长、连长、团长、师长等职，后逐步成长为高级军事指挥员。1996年至1999年期间，他担任成都军区司令员，为西南地区的国防建设和部队现代化作出重要贡献。隗福临1994年被授予中将军衔，1998年晋升为上将军衔。他一生忠诚于党和人民的事业，作风严谨，治军有方，在军内外享有崇高威望。他的逝世是中国人民解放军的重大损失，其革命精神和优良作风将激励后人继续前行。
