原成都军区司令员隗福临上将因病医治无效,于2024年6月15日在北京逝世,享年87岁。隗福临同志1937年出生于黑龙江肇州,1955年参军入伍,长期在解放军陆军部队服役,历任战士、排长、连长、团长、师长等职,后逐步成长为高级军事指挥员。1996年至1999年期间,他担任成都军区司令员,为西南地区的国防建设和部队现代化作出重要贡献。隗福临1994年被授予中将军衔,1998年晋升为上将军衔。他一生忠诚于党和人民的事业,作风严谨,治军有方,在军内外享有崇高威望。他的逝世是中国人民解放军的重大损失,其革命精神和优良作风将激励后人继续前行。
