Recently, Beijing SinoHytec Co., Ltd.—a leading Chinese hydrogen fuel cell company—and Kunming Engineering Corporation Limited of PowerChina (hereinafter referred to as ‘PowerChina Kunming Institute’) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The partnership aims to integrate their respective strengths in hydrogen fuel cell technology and energy engineering design to jointly advance the development and deployment of green hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and refueling infrastructure. SinoHytec, a pioneer in China’s fuel cell system sector, brings mature fuel cell technologies and industrialization capabilities, while PowerChina Kunming Institute offers extensive expertise in renewable energy, hydropower, and integrated energy system planning. The two parties will collaborate closely on integrated projects combining renewable energy with green hydrogen, focusing initially on Southwest China and expanding nationwide, to explore commercial applications of hydrogen in transportation, industry, and energy storage. This agreement marks a significant step toward deeper integration across China’s hydrogen value chain and provides strong support for achieving the nation’s dual carbon goals.
