AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. (commonly known as CATIC Chengdu or CAC) is a core subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and a key manufacturer of military aircraft in China. It serves as the principal manufacturer of the JF-17 Thunder (also known as FC-1 Xiaolong), playing a pivotal role in the joint development and mass production of this fighter jet.The JF-17 is a lightweight, multirole combat aircraft co-developed by China and Pakistan to meet the Pakistani Air Force’s demand for a cost-effective yet high-performance platform.
