In recent years, ‘ticket-boosting packages’ have become a common feature on many platforms during holidays or for popular events. However, an increasing number of users and experts argue that these ‘acceleration packs’ not only fail to improve ticket-purchasing success rates but may actually reduce them. The reason lies in certain platforms’ algorithms, which may deliberately place users who don’t purchase boosters further back in the waiting queue, creating artificial urgency and fear of missing out. Official channels like China Railway’s 12306 have clearly stated that their ticket allocation system is entirely random and fair, with no connection to third-party boosting services. Moreover, when large numbers of users simultaneously activate acceleration features, it can overload the system, causing slowdowns or even crashes—further degrading the overall ticket-buying experience. Some boosters even engage in misleading advertising, falsely claiming ‘priority access’ without delivering real benefits. Therefore, rather than relying on these paid add-ons, users are better off preparing in advance—such as logging in early, pre-filling passenger details, and using official apps—which remains the most reliable way to increase ticket acquisition success.
