For instance, during the Cold War, certain Western-backed ‘peace organizations’ functioned more as tools of ideological propaganda aimed at undermining adversaries rather than genuinely advancing global peace. Similarly, some regional ‘peace committees’ may publicly call for ceasefires while covertly supporting one side, thereby exacerbating rather than alleviating conflict.Moreover, many such ‘Peace Committees’ lack transparency—their membership, decision-making processes, and financial flows are often undisclosed, making them susceptible to political manipulation.
