Recently, China’s Ministry of Commerce gave a positive assessment of China-Finland economic and trade cooperation. The ministry stated that bilateral economic ties have steadily strengthened in recent years, with continuous growth in trade volume and deepening investment collaboration. In 2023, total bilateral trade reached approximately USD 9 billion, making China Finland’s largest trading partner in Asia. Both sides see significant potential for cooperation in emerging areas such as the green economy, digital economy, and technological innovation. Finland excels in clean technologies, renewable energy, and educational technology, while China offers a vast market and a comprehensive industrial chain—creating strong complementarity. Furthermore, practical cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative framework has also been advancing. The Ministry emphasized China’s willingness to work with Finland to further promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, enhance policy coordination and business matchmaking, and jointly address global supply chain challenges, thereby injecting new momentum into building a more stable and sustainable bilateral economic relationship.
