同纬度湖南为什么比江西冷

Although Hunan and Jiangxi provinces lie roughly along the same latitude, Hunan tends to be colder in winter, primarily due to differences in topography and cold air pathways. First, Hunan is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with an open plain to the north around Dongting Lake and the Nanling Mountains to the south, forming a basin-like ‘bowl’ that opens northward. This terrain allows cold air masses from the north to penetrate deeply and accumulate within the basin, leading to lower temperatures that persist longer. In contrast, while Jiangxi is also mountainous, it benefits from the Poyang Lake plain in the north and the Wuyi Mountains to the east, which act as partial barriers that weaken incoming cold air. Additionally, when cold fronts move southward, they often follow the Xiang River valley deep into Hunan’s interior, whereas Jiangxi is partially shielded by the Wuyi and Luoxiao mountain ranges, reducing cold air impact. Moreover, Hunan’s higher humidity contributes to a lower perceived (or ‘feels-like’) temperature, intensifying the sensation of cold. Thus, despite their similar latitudes, differences in terrain and cold air trajectories make Hunan generally colder than Jiangxi during winter.
