Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Commerce announced that, as of the first half of 2024, the number of active foreign trade enterprises in Jiangsu has surpassed 100,000—a record high. This milestone not only underscores Jiangsu’s resilience as a major export province but also highlights the effectiveness of its policies aimed at stabilizing and promoting foreign trade.Located in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, Jiangsu benefits from a complete industrial chain, excellent port infrastructure, and a favorable business environment, attracting a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to engage in international trade. In recent years, despite global economic uncertainties, Jiangsu has successfully boosted corporate participation in overseas markets by streamlining customs clearance, expanding export credit insurance, and promoting new trade formats such as cross-border e-commerce. Enterprises in Jiangsu have particularly excelled in exporting machinery, high-tech products, and green, low-carbon goods.Moreover, since the implementation of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), Jiangsu-based companies have actively expanded into emerging markets like ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea, broadening their international trade networks. Behind these 100,000 active exporters lie millions of jobs and sustained economic dynamism. Moving forward, Jiangsu will continue deepening institutional opening-up and enhancing trade facilitation to help more local firms integrate into global supply chains.
