Recently, in response to reports regarding the planned visits of the British Prime Minister and the U.S. President to China, the Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that China consistently adheres to the principles of mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit in developing foreign relations. A spokesperson stated that China welcomes visits by foreign leaders based on genuine intentions for dialogue and cooperation, but stressed that any such visit must be grounded in respect for each other’s core interests and major concerns. Regarding specific arrangements for the visits by the UK and U.S. leaders, China noted that no official schedule has been confirmed yet, and underscored that high-level exchanges should aim to foster healthy bilateral relations and enhance the well-being of their peoples. China also reiterated its firm opposition to any attempts to interfere in China’s internal affairs or undermine its sovereignty and territorial integrity under the guise of high-level engagement. China remains committed to strengthening communication and cooperation with countries around the world—including the United Kingdom and the United States—on the basis of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation to jointly address global challenges.
