Recently, the completion of the dual-track integration of the Guangzhou–Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway into Guangzhou Railway Station marks a critical milestone in this major national infrastructure project. This engineering feat connects the high-speed line directly to Guangzhou’s central rail hub by adding two new high-speed tracks within the existing station complex. The construction team overcame significant challenges, including operational interference from active rail lines, complex underground utilities, and spatial constraints, leveraging advanced BIM technology and meticulous project management to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Spanning approximately 400 kilometers with a design speed of 350 km/h, the Guangzhou–Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway will dramatically reduce travel time between western Guangdong and the core cities of the Greater Bay Area—cutting the journey from Zhanjiang to Guangzhou to under 90 minutes. The dual-track integration not only reinforces Guangzhou’s role as a national railway hub but also accelerates regional integration and urban cluster development. In the future, the line will interconnect with the Shenzhen–Zhanjiang Railway and Guangzhou–Shantou High-Speed Railway, further enhancing South China’s high-speed rail network and supporting Guangdong’s vision of a ‘one-hour transportation circle’ to drive high-quality economic and social development.
