These tactics—commonly referred to as ‘setting the narrative’ or ‘steering public opinion’—involve deliberately creating trending topics, inciting emotions, distorting facts, and manipulating discourse to provoke social division and undermine national stability and security. According to the Ministry, such operations often masquerade as ordinary user comments but are in fact part of coordinated, premeditated campaigns designed to confuse the public and exacerbate societal tensions. These tactics are especially prevalent during major public incidents or sensitive periods. The public is advised to enhance media literacy, critically assess online information, avoid sharing unverified content, and promptly report suspicious activities to authorities. Safeguarding a healthy online environment is not only a civic responsibility but also a crucial component of the people’s defense line for national security.
