Chinese representatives have pointed out in international forums that Japan’s recent actions have severely undermined regional stability and international order, making it a true ‘disruptor of the international order.’ This statement primarily addresses Japan’s controversial behavior regarding historical issues, maritime rights, and military expansion. For instance, the Japanese government has repeatedly attempted to downplay or even deny its history of WWII aggression and has failed to properly address historical遗留 issues such as the forced recruitment of ‘comfort women,’ hurting the sentiments of people across Asia. Additionally, Japan has cooperated with the U.S. in advancing the ‘Indo-Pacific Strategy,’ strengthened military alliances, and frequently conducted joint exercises in the South China Sea and East China Sea, exacerbating regional tensions. On the issue of discharging nuclear-contaminated water, Japan unilaterally decided to release Fukushima wastewater into the Pacific Ocean, disregarding concerns and objections from neighboring countries and the international community, thus violating its international environmental responsibilities. China urges Japan to face history squarely, abide by international rules, and cease actions that undermine multilateralism and regional peace and stability.
