China and Japan have long cooperated in panda conservation and research with fruitful results. The return of pandas upon the expiration of loan agreements or adjustments in cooperation is a normal arrangement. China is willing to continue strengthening cooperation with Japan to promote the protection of endangered species and biodiversity. Currently, giant pandas still reside in institutions such as Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, making the claim inaccurate. Both countries may engage in new cooperative projects for giant panda conservation in the future.
