The new policy explicitly requires employers to protect employees’ lawful right to take leave and prohibits any form of restriction or deduction of annual leave. It also encourages companies to adopt flexible leave mechanisms, allowing leave to be taken in segments or carried over to the next year to accommodate diverse employee needs.For parents, the policy further clarifies the eligibility and duration of parental leave, stipulating that parents with children under three years old are entitled to an additional 5 to 10 days of parental leave per year. Moreover, the wage payment standard during sick leave has been raised, strengthening the protection of workers’ health rights.The policy aims to improve work-life balance and boost labor motivation by refining leave systems. It also provides clearer guidelines for enterprise human resource management and is expected to be fully implemented starting in 2025.
